PGP Computers provides our customers with a variety of professional and technical services at affordable rates.
On-Site Services
Our on-site services are charged at an hourly rate and will incur a trip charge. Trip charges are per incident, so if your service requires an additional trip, you won't need to pay a trip charge each time. |
| Standard Hourly Rate ~ $80.00 per hour with a 1/2 hour minimum.
Standard Trip Charge ~ $20.00 per incident. |
Shop Services
Our shop rates vary dependent on the service required. Most shop services have a fixed rate irregardless of the time required to make the repair. Of course the cost of parts, tax and any shipping charges are additional. It is often times much cheaper to bring your computer into the shop for repair vs. on-site repair services. |
| General Systems Diagnostics
Includes systems diagnostics to determine the nature of a system failure and an estimated cost of repairing the problem. No repairs are made prior to receipt of an authorization to proceed with the repair. If you opt to have us do the repair, the diagnostics charge will be applied to the repair. General Systems Diagnostics are billed at 0.5 hour at our standard hourly rate. |
| General System Maintenance
Includes removal of temporary program files; startup program and overall system performance optimization; removal of expired and/or unwanted software; installation and/or update of antivirus and antispyware software; complete system scan and removal of found viruses and spyware. General System Maintenance also includes cleaning inside and outside of computer and performing all available Microsoft Windows updates. General System Maintenance is billed as 1.0 hour at our standard hourly rate. |
| General Repair and/or Upgrade
Includes general system repair as determined by system diagnostics and/or system upgrade per client request. Cost of actual replacement/upgrade parts, tax and any shipping associated additional. General repair and/or upgrade is billed at our standard hourly rate. |
| Complete System Restoration
System restoration includes removal and recreation of primary partition; formatting the hard drive; installing Microsoft Windows operating system*; installing system device drivers; installing Microsoft Windows updates; installing utility programs including the current versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Flash Player, Apple Quicktime Player, Apple iTunes, and Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment; installing any additional software provided by the customer*; installing antivirus and antispyware software and updates; performing functionality tests on all installed programs; performing system scans for viruses and spyware and removing any found infected files. Complete System Restoration rates will vary dependent on method of restoration and any request for data backup and/or recovery. Please call for an estimate.
*Please Note: Customer must provide OEM or upgrade software at time of repair and/or upgrade. Replacement software will be provided at customer expense. PGP Computers will NOT install pirated or "borrowed" software. |
| Data Backup and Recovery
Data Backup and Recovery services include the backup and/or recovery of your personal and/or business data, lost data, deleted files, etc. If you have a drive that is no longer accessible through conventional means, we can typically recover your data. Data Backup and Recovery rates will vary dependent on level of recovery, please call for an estimate.
Please Note: While we will make every attempt to backup your data correctly, we are NOT responsible for any lost or damaged files. Please also note that we do not backup software programs, as software typically requires reinstallation for proper operation. We highly recommend you backup any personal and/or business data you deem important prior to having your computer serviced. |

| Equipment Disposal and Recycling Services
PGP Computers now offers used equipment disposal and recycling services. This would include any used, obsolete, damaged, defective, etc. computer related equipment that you no longer want to collect dust in your basement or storage area. Equipment which is relatively current and reusable is recycled or donated; equipment which is damaged, defective or obsolete is disassembled and disposed of in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. This is a FREE service with the exception of CRT monitors which will incur a $15.00 charge per item*.
*Please Note: CRT monitors (look like an old TV) require hazardous waste processing due to the Mercury contained in the picture tube. Please do NOT throw these items in your trash can!! |

Accepted Payment
We currently accept Cash, Local Checks (with ID), Debit Cards, and Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover) for the amount of purchase only. Sorry, we are no longer able to extend credit. A 50% deposit is required on all repairs and/or upgrades requiring the purchase of parts. All services are payable upon completion of work unless previous arrangements have been made. The customer is responsible for all charges incurred during the collection of bad debts and NSF checks. Any equipment left over 30 days will become the property of PGP Computers, Inc. and may be disposed of or sold to recover outstanding charges.
Our Warranty
Labor is warrantied for 30 days from the date of service; new parts are warrantied by the manufacturer; used parts carry no warranty. Damage caused by abuse, power surge, virus and/or spyware voids the warranty. PGP Computers is not responsible for keeping a copy of customer data after delivery of the computer. Any saved data will be disposed of within 30 days of completion of service unless immediate disposal is requested. |
